STEP 1
Fully submerge an unopened can of sweetened condensed milk on its side, label removed, in a large pot of water.
STEP 2
Bring water to a boil, then simmer for 2 1/2 hours - maintaining 2 inches of water above the can at all times.
STEP 3
Cool completely - I’m serious, completely - before opening.
