q: i am trying to place an order, but can’t enter my credit card information.

a: If you are trying to place a shipping order: please try clearing your cache and/or using a different browser. we see this problem occasionally from people who are using internet explorer to access the website, and strongly recommend switching to firefox, safari, or google chrome to place your order if you experience this problem.

if you are trying to place an order with an international credit card: please get in touch via email and someone will help process the order.

If you have tried these things and are having no luck, please get in touch and we will process your order manually via a secure online invoice.

q: How can I reserve an order to pick up from one of your locations?

a: orders for most items available in our stores can be placed online with 3 days notice: click here to start an order. Same day reservations can also be made by calling our locations directly at 855.333.milk (please listen to the phone prompts for each store’s extension #).

q: I would like to reserve a cake, pie, cookies, or truffles for today/tomorrow but your online system won’t let me pick the date! Can you squeeze me in?

a: While we require 3 days advance notice for reservations, we keep all of our Milk Bar locations well stocked for walk-in orders. You should have no problem finding some delicious treats at one of our storefronts. If you have a particular item in mind, your best bet is to come to our Brooklyn shop (382 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg) which is attached to our production kitchen—we always have an unlimited stock of baked goods for walk-in purchase! Call 855.333.milk to inquire about availability at a particular store.

q: when will my order ship?

a: ups ground & 2nd day air: orders received before 12pm est are shipped same day monday-wednesday. all other orders ship on the following monday.
next day air: orders received before 12pm est are shipped same day monday-thursday. all other orders ship on the following monday. please note that these are general guidelines, we do not guarantee same day shipping on any order. If you are placing an order for a time sensitive event, we recommend placing the order early. all milk bar products can be frozen upon arrival to preserve freshness.

q: what if i am running late for my pickup? what if i want to pick up my order a few hours early?

a: if you are running late, we will hold your order for you. If you need to change a pick up time to earlier than noon, please contact us and we will let you know whether or not it is possible.

q: Where can I find the nutritional facts for your products?

a: Unfortunately, at this time we do not have calorie information or a nutritional breakdown available for our products. We’re happy to send along an ingredients list to help out if you have dietary concerns.

q: What is the shelf life your products?

a: Cakes, cake truffles and pies should be refrigerated, and will stay fresh for about 5-7 days in the fridge. They can also be stored in the freezer upon purchase for up to several weeks, if you would like to order ahead of time for an event. Our products freeze wonderfully. Cookies will stay fresh at room temperature for about 5-7 days, and can be kept longer in the fridge or freezer.

q: can i add a message on my cake?

a: yes. please specify any script needs in the comments section during the order process. there is a 35 character maximum for 6″ cakes. unfortunately, we cannot offer script on chocolate malt cakes.

q: can i add a message on my pie?

a: no. sorry, but we do not offer writing on pies.

q: i need help now, what is your phone number?

q: What is your cancellation policy for classes?

a: We prepare everything for the classes 48 hours before each class based on class size.

Standard Cancellation Policy

Cancellations up to 48 hours in advance will be refunded in full. We are also happy to re-book you in another currently available class with openings.

Last Minute Cancellation Policy

Cancellations within 48 hours of a class date will not be refunded unless a replacement is found to take your spot in the class. If you need to cancel within 48 hours’ notice, we will do our best to fill your spot by reaching out to our wait-list. If we are unable to fill your spot, you are also welcome to transfer your spot in class to a friend.

Momofuku Milk Bar reserves the right to cancel in the event of chef illness of inclement weather. We will contact you by email or telephone and issue a full refund or transfer your registration to another class of your choice, depending on availability.

If you miss a class due to weather-related concerns, our standard cancellation policy applies.

q: What should I wear?

a: please wear comfortable, casual clothing and flat, comfortable shoes. please try to refrain from wearing open-toed shoes or sandals, as you will be baking in a FDA regulated production facility. You will be provided with a hair net and headscarf before entering our kitchen, if your hair is longer than your ears length, you must pull your hair back in a elastic band.

q: What if I have food allergies?

a: please inform us ahead of time if you have any severe food allergies. in our classes, we will be working with ingredients such as gluten, dairy, eggs, soy and nuts.

q: I registered with a friend and they can no longer attend. Help!

a: With 48 hours’ notice: Standard cancellation policy applies.
We can cancel and refund just your friend’s spot, or both spots in the class. We are also happy to re-book you both in another currently available class with openings.

With less than 48 hours’ notice: Last minute cancellation policy applies.

If you had a shipping account with us prior to december 2012, you will need to register a new account. we are very sorry for the inconvenience.

q: can i use my momofuku reservation system account (ko, bo ssam, fried chicken, milk bar pick up) to place a shipping order?

a: no. you can either create a new account on our shipping website or check out as a guest. you do not need an account to place a shipping order with milk bar.

q: when will my order ship?

a: ups ground & 2nd day air: orders received before 12pm est are shipped same day monday-wednesday. all other orders ship on the following monday.

q: once it ships, how long will it take for my order to arrive?

after you have received your tracking # you can typically expect your package to arrive within 1-3 days.
next day air: within 1 business day
2nd day air: within 2 business days
ground: in NY, ground takes 1 business day. Outside of NY, 1-3 business days.

q: my order didn’t arrive on time!

a: once a package ships from our kitchen, we are not responsible for delays in transit caused by high package volume, weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disasters, terrorism safety control, inaccurate shipping information, or the drop off policy of our carriers. we do not require a signature for delivery on any order.

q: can i add a gift message to my order?

a: yes. during checkout you will have the option of including a gift message with your order.

q: why is overnight the only option for shipping a pie, or cake, or cake tasting?

a: these items are time and temperature sensitive, so overnight shipping is the only option we offer. if there’s a pie, cake, or cake tasting in your shopping cart, we’ll overnight everything in your order so everything arrives at the same time.

q: can i cancel or change my order?

a: we start working on your order as soon as it’s placed, so we do not allow any changes or cancellations. please carefully review your order before placing it.

q: do you offer returns/refunds?

a: no. we do not offer returns or refunds on any orders unless there was an error in our manufacturing, packaging or handling of your order.

q: What about international shipping?

a: we offer international shipping whenever possible. please submit an international shipping request to inquire about shipping rates. keep in mind that shipping perishable products across borders can be quite a feat! but we do our best to accommodate our international fans whenever possible.

q: can i make my order by phone? by e-mail?

a: we do accept phone and email orders if you are having difficulty with our online system. contact us via email or call our main office: 855.333.milk ext 0.

q: can i place a reservation order with the same account i use for shipping?

a: yes, you can use the same login for both parts of our website.

q: i need something today or tomorrow, how can i place a last minute order?

a: when you make a reservation with 3 days advance notice we are producing goodies especially for you. if you need to pick something up on shorter notice, we are happy to help put something together from our standard stock, though the selection of flavors and sizes may be limited.
If you need something today please come on by to one of our stores, we are always well stocked in cookies, truffles and pies, and keep a limited selection of 6” cakes on hand at all times. You can also contact our main office via email or call 855.333.milk ext 0 for assistance setting up a last minute order.

q: do i need an account to place my pick up order?

a: while you don’t need an account, we do suggest creating one so that you will be able to view your order history and automatically request cancellation up to 2 days in advance.

q: i never received my confirmation e-mail. what should i do?

a: check your junk, spam, or bulk e-mail filters and make sure that you registered with the correct email address. if you can’t find it, get in touch and we will look into the problem.

q: i forgot my password…

a: click on the “forgot password” link on the “my account” page

q: how do i change my password?

a: log into the system and click on the “change password” link at the bottom of “my account”

q: when do i pay for my order?

a: online orders are paid for in full through our online system. orders are not processed until payment has been completed.

q: where do i enter my payment information?

a: when you checkout, you will be taken to our secure payment processing page where you will enter all of your information.

q: can i pay with someone else’s credit card?

a: yes, you can enter any billing information into the system.

q: why are only whole pies, cakes, and cookie half-dozens available for pick up online?

a: our online ordering system is designed for larger-scale to-go orders. single slices of pies and orders of less than six cookies are always available for pickup at milk bar. all other goods are based on in-store availability only.

q: can i place a single order for pickup on multiple days?

a: no. if you want to pick up different products on different days, please make separate orders.

q: can i change the items in my order, or change the pick up day and/or location?

a: no. once an order is placed it cannot be changed. if you must alter your order please cancel the order by going to “my account” at least 2 days before your pick up day. once your original order has been cancelled you can place a new order with the correct information. If you have not created an account, or you submitted payment via paypal, please contact us directly to cancel your order.

q: what if i need to cancel my order? do you allow returns?

a: you may cancel your order by going to “my account” at least 2 days before your pick up day and selecting the cancellation link. cancellations are only allowed more than 2 days before the scheduled pick-up time. returns and/or exchanges are not allowed for baked goods ordered online unless the reason for return relates to a defect in production or packaging.

q: can someone else pick up my order?

a: yes, but they must have a printed copy of your order confirmation e-mail.

q: what if i am running late for my pickup? what if i want to pick up my order a few hours early?

orders can be picked up any time on the date of your reservation from the opening to closing times of the store.

q: can i add a message on my cake?

a: yes. when adding a cake to your order you can add script by clicking on the image of the cake to get to the expanded description and options. there is a 35 character maximum for 6″ cakes. unfortunately we do not offer cake script on our chocolate malt cakes.

q: can i add a message on my pie?

a: no. sorry, but we do not offer writing on pies.

q: do you deliver?

a: yes! currently our upper west side, carroll gardens and williamsburg locations accept same day local take out orders.

q: what if i’m not in your delivery zone?!?

a: our production kitchen will make special deliveries to any address in nyc. There is a $50 minimum and a $50+ delivery fee for special deliveries. to set up an order please submit your request through our online contact system, or call 347.577.9504 ext 0.

our menu changes frequently and with the season. we source our ingredients from local, sustainable and/or responsible farmers as often as possible. there is no dress code at any of our locations, and you do not need a reservation to visit a milk bar bakery. all of our bakeries are wheelchair accessible.

q: how much is an average menu item?

a: our menu and prices change often. small items can range from 2 to 6 dollars, and larger items range from 9 to 44. please take a look at our current menu for the most up to date price information.

q: do you sell gift cards?

a: yes. you can purchase a gift card online at momofuku.com or in person at any of our stores. gift cards can be used to make purchases at any milk bar or momofuku location. gift cards cannot be used for online purchases.

q: do you have parking?

a: there’s plenty of parking on the street or in parking garages near our locations.

q: are any of your items nut-free?

a: items that contain nuts are marked on the menu and order page with an asterisk. all other items are nut-free, but are produced in a kitchen where nuts are present.

q: are any of your items vegan-friendly?

a: unfortunately at this time none of the items on our nyc menu are vegan-friendly. we do have a vegan-friendly maple cookie available at toronto milk bar!

q: do you have any gluten-free baked goods?

a: our karlie’s kookies™ are wheat free, dairy free, and sweetened without added sugar. karlie’s kookies are available at all of our nyc stores or through our online store. we also periodically offer soft-serve ice cream flavors that are gluten-free. all of our other cookies, pies, cakes, and cake truffles contain gluten.

q: where do your ingredients come from?

a: as often as possible, we source our ingredients from local farms that engage in sustainable practices.

q: what’s the story behind your milk?

a: our milk comes from natural By nature, an organic dairy collective based out of lancaster county, pennsylvania, that delivers and distributes independently. founded in 1994, they are proud to offer milk from grass-fed cows who have been raised with an eye towards holistic, organic practices. learn more about natural by nature here.

milk bar has always been dedicated to supporting local, organic dairy, but this year we’d like to take it EVEN further! starting january 2014, we are donating a portion of all of our dairy sales to support independent and family dairy farmers in need. we wouldn’t be where we are today without local, independent dairy, so help us support these very important members of the farming community!

q: how do i order a wedding cake?

a: please fill out the the wedding department’s contact form and one of our wedding cake coordinators will respond to you with instructions on how to proceed.

q: how early in advance can i order a wedding cake?

a: we require a minimum of one month notice, and will accept orders up to 6 months in advance. during our busy season (may-october) we ask for 3-6 months notice to ensure we can fit you onto our schedule.

q: what is the latest i can place an order for a wedding cake?

a: we require at least one month advance notice for wedding cake orders. we suggest putting your order in 2-3 months in advance since we fill up very quickly during the busy months (may-october).

q: what are your wedding cake sizes?

a: small three tier cake (10″,6″,4″): $400* (serves 60)
large three tier cake (14″,10″,6″): $575* (serves 120)
four tier cake (14″,10″,6″,4″): $675* (serves 140)
six tier cake (14″,12″,10″,8″,6″,4″) $975* (serves 210)
additional 10″, 14″, and 18”x26” sheet cakes are available for cutting.
* cost does not include possible off-the-menu fees, delivery fee, and applicable tax. there is an additional $50 warm weather insulated packing fee for wedding cakes that are delivered outside of manhattan and brooklyn, ny in may-september.

q: can i come in for a cake tasting?

a: the cake tasting package is $25 and includes a 2 bite sample of each of the10-12 flavors currently available as wedding cake options.
there are three ways to taste our cake flavors:
-schedule a one-on-one tasting appointment in our williamsburg kitchen(monday through friday, 10am-4:30pm)
-arrange to pick up a tasting package at one of our five milk bar locations(7 days a week, 10am-11pm)
-have it shipped to you at home. (in this case, there is a $5 handling fee + ups overnight shipping fee )
please note that we need at least 72 hours advance notice to prepare your tasting.

q: can i choose a wedding cake with different flavors for each tier?

a: yes! you can choose 1-6 flavors depending on the size of your cake. you are the artist, you decide which flavors go in which tier.

q: do you offer delivery for wedding cakes?

a: We’re happy to quote you for delivery within the tristate area. Please provide us with a delivery address and we’ll send you a quote based on time/distance.
If that doesn’t meet your needs there is also the option to pick up your order at our Williamsburg kitchen address free of charge (382 Metropolitan Ave, Brooklyn, NY) or we can provide a shipping quote (which would include the cost of shipping + shipping packing materials).

q: do you ship your wedding cakes out of state?

a: We ship our wedding cakes across the country, via UPS Next Day Air. The cake is insulated in a foam shipping box specifically for perishable goods, and packaged with ice packs and protective foil filling. In addition to the price of the cake, there is a $250 handling fee which covers the packaging and labor involved, as well as the overnight UPS shipping fee which is typically $100-$200 (exact price depends on numerous factors including distance, location, time, weight, and changing fuel costs).

q: will you cover my cake in frosting or fondant?

a: all of our wedding cakes are produced exactly the same way as they are for the bakery: naked, unfrosted sides which highlight all of the delicious fillings layered inside. we take pride in the unique look of our cakes and it breaks our heart when someone wants to cover them with frosting or fondant. sorry, but we do not offer this as an option.

special orders

q: do you make larger cakes for special order?

a: we sell 6″ cakes in our bakery that feed 8-10 and cost $38. if you are looking for something bigger, we now carry 10″, 14″ and 18”x26” sheet cakes for special order. click here for more information about party cakes.

q: what cake flavors are available for special order?

a: orders can be placed for any flavor or size listed on our party cakes menu. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests for special flavors not listed on our menu.

q: do you offer delivery for special orders?

a: special orders can be delivered by messenger anywhere in nyc. there is a $50 minimum on delivery orders. a flat delivery fee, starting at $50, will be calculated based on the size of your order and distance to your location from our williamsburg production kitchen.

are bulk orders available?

a: we are happy to put together bulk orders of cookies, cake truffles, whole pies, and pie slices. we request at least one week advance notice for large orders. all bulk orders must be picked up from our williamsburg bakery location.

how early in advance can i place an order? how late?

a: special orders can be placed as early as 6 months before the date of pickup. we require at least 72 hours advance notice for special orders, and in some cases up to a week if the order is larger than usual.

do you do corporate orders?

a: we are happy to arrange corporate packages for either pickup locally or shipping. please get in touch to set up an order.

i want to sell your baked goods in my store! do you wholesale?

sorry, at this time we’re not selling wholesale.

q: how do i cancel my reservation?

a: all pick up orders can be cancelled up to 2 days before their scheduled pickup date. to cancel your order, please login and go to “my account” to request a cancellation, or get in touch and we will cancel it for you. cancellation requests after the 48 hour deadline will not be honored.

q: how do i cancel or change my shipping order?

a: because we begin processing shipments as they are received, shipping orders cannot be cancelled or modified.

q: I would like to return an item and/or be refunded

a: momofuku milk bar does not accept returns, offer exchanges, and/or grant refunds on any goods sold unless the issue for return, exchange, and/or refund is the result of an error in our manufacturing, packaging, or handling of the goods.

we are not responsible for delays caused by UPS due to weather, mechanical error, strikes, natural disaster, terrorism safety control, inaccurate shipping information, or mistakes on the part of ups employees. therefore, we are not able to offer refunds for those reasons. however, if you believe that ups has mishandled your package please let us know and we will gladly file a claim with ups on your behalf.
